I was born and raised in Long Beach, California before moving to Northern California during my junior year of high school. I have been caring for children for more than 20 years and have taken many Early Childhood Education courses from Santa Rosa Junior College and here locally. I was a nanny for 6 years in Marin County, California before becoming a stay at home mom after the birth of my first child. I have 3 children, Kayla (20), Nathan (18), and Joshua (12). I have been married to my husband, Philip for 24 years! I operated a family childcare business in California and here in Sparks until I decided to join Purple Door! I feel so blessed and lucky to have been given the opportunity to work at such an amazing school. I love Stef's philosophy of "learning through play" and the passion she has for the children and families of Purple Door. I look forward to coming to work everyday to "play" with the children and guide them through their day and to help them foster a love of learning and discovery. In my spare time I love reading, enjoying the outdoors in this beautiful region and above all, spending time with my family.

I am excited to join the team at Purple Door Preschool! For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed playing and engaging with children. I am a big kid myself! Even as a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and one day have a lot of kids of my own. Professionally, I have worked as an Infant/ Toddler Director and as an ABA in-home tutor for students with special needs. Most recently, I was employed for five years at a local non-profit school for children with autism. While working full-time, I attended TMCC and took most of my Early Childhood Education courses from Linda O’Neil! I am currently enrolled at UNR to finish my bachelor’s degree in Human Development Family Studies. I am a passionate, kind, dedicated person and educator. I believe that anything learned in pleasure is learned in full measure. I like to make every day a fun and interactive learning experience. In my free time, I enjoy staying active with my family. I have been married for 26 years and have 3 boys. I like to camp, run, ski, and explore the great outdoors!
I was born and raised in Watsonville, California until the age of fifteen. I then moved to Reno and have been living here since. I have always had a passion to work with children. My experience caring for children began in my teenage years, from babysitting regularly to having the opportunity to be a nanny. My love for working with children has grown over the years and I enjoy teaching them as well as learning from them. I started working at Purple Door in the Summer of 2017 and since I’ve enjoyed coming to work to play! I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you and creating endless memories!

Growing up I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher and work with children. Throughout high school and college, I spent a lot of my days volunteering at elementary schools when I could and also babysitting and nannying. I graduated from Northern Arizona University and then continued my education by getting my Masters of Arts and Teaching degree from the University of Southern California. I spent three years teaching in Washington state until I had my first son. I now have two kids, Cal (4) and Matt (2) and have spent the last four years at home with my boys! In my free time, I most enjoy exploring the outdoors with my family. I am so excited to join the Purple Door team and can’t wait to meet and work with all of the Purple Door students!

I was born and raised in Reno ,Nevada. I started babysitting when I was twelve years old with children from 1-9 years old. This led me to taking Early Childhood classes at Spanish Springs High School with preschoolers at our on campus child care center. I learned there how I absolutely loved being able to have fun with the kids and watch their little faces light up. I am now a junior at the University of Nevada, studying Social Work and hope to become a children’s therapist. I have worked at Purple Door for 4 years now! Giving back to the community has always been a priority of mine as I am a proud donor and supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kids hold a very special place in my heart, I can't wait to create a special bond with yours!

I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. I am a recent graduate of Spanish Spring High School and I have had many years of experience with children, babysitting and nannying for multiple years. I have been a teacher at Purple Door for over a year. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Purple Door family and having the opportunity to get to know each and every child, watching them learn and grow. It amazes me every day how much we can learn from them, just as much as they learn from us. I have always been interested in early childhood education and plan to further my education in the field.
